PROJECTS
Some of the projects I've worked on through my studies, internships or on my own
Electronics Skateboard
Personal project
In 2017 I bought a sheet of bamboo wood and cut out a skateboard for myself, but I did not stop there. I designed and installed the electronics so I could turn it in an electronic skateboard.
No, Im not a lazy person. I just dont know how to skate normally, so I engineered a solution ;)
Smart Mirror
Personal project
Built this mirror that also displays relavent information for you like the date, time and even a message when activated. Capable of also displaying emails, news and the weather. Made the frame myself from wood and all the electronics and coding done myself as well.
Amazon Light Animation display
ThingKing Internship
Amazon opened a new office in Cape Town. This was the entrance automated animation display I helped work on for them. Its controlled by a raspberry Pi via the internet to display any message to customers entering the office. It also has special hand crafted metal work with the theme of star wars on it which was done by local artist. I was helping with the wiring and set up of the light animation and the wireless controlled display
Solar Powered Street Light
ThingKing Internship
Solar Panel installed on top of the structure. I was in charge of the electronics of remote controlling lights with the solar system Via a controller. I also soldiered the LED that are in each bottle for the lights. Over 100 bottles were used per structure and 3 LEDs per bottle light.
Maze Solving Robot (Automated)
3rd Year Course Project
At UCT, in 3rd year we had to design and build a Robot thats can solve a black line maze completely automated. I had a group of 4. I was the group leader and did most of the electronic designing and building, as well as the coding of the microprocessor.
